Virtual Reality Experience Project Year: 2022 Client: Mpesa Global Pay & Visa
What is the Experience?
The Beat My Time VR challenge was aimed at engaging audiences attending the launch of MpesaGlobal pay. Participants experienced a thrilling race against a world record holder, Eliud Kipchoge. The concept behind the game was to demonstrate the global accessibility of the platform. The winner of the challenge was rewarded with Nike shoes signed by the World Champion. The virtual worlds featured landmarks from various cities including London, Berlin, Tokyo, and Vienna, allowing players to immerse themselves in diverse city environments.
What is the Objective?
The objective was to captivate and involve attendees at the launch of MpesaGlobal pay through an exciting virtual reality challenge. By racing against a world-renowned athlete and exploring virtual renditions of iconic cities, participants gained insight into the platform’s global reach and accessibility. The incentive of winning signed Nike shoes further enhanced engagement and excitement among participants.
How does it work?
The experience starts with the lobby – An explorable world with different merchandise and a challenge poised to the player from the world champion. The player gets to pick a city for the race and it begins. Throughout the race the player is encouraged as they race through the branded streets of the cities. We used gestural technology and VR headset controllers to have the player control their avatar in the virtual worlds.
